Climate Action & Sustainability in Vernon
The City of Vernon is committed to building a sustainable future. Since 2008, we've launched numerous community programs focused on environmental stewardship, education and sustainability.
In 2021, Vernon endorsed its first Climate Action Plan with the vision "By 2050, Vernon is a leader in climate action, with no net Greenhouse Gas emissions and resilient to the changing climate."
Throughout the year, our sustainability team spreads awareness and education through community programming and attending various markets and events. The City also opens sustainability grants in the spring and fall to fund sustainability initiatives from residents of Vernon.

The City of Vernon is welcoming the Youth Climate Corps to our community to help implement the Climate Action Plan and support the City of Vernon along with other local organizations on their climate and sustainability goals.
